Hi Jon, sorry about you getting caught up in naughty little potty Mouth Erin's inside joke. It's all her fault honest! I don't mind swearing, I just rarely do it. I prayed a wretched Pharisee prayer thanking God that I wasn't like her and Sue on my blog and now we are having fun with it.

Will you please administrate on the Kitchen? That just means you can get into the workings if something goes wrong or someone you know needs to be added or, heaven forbid, banned for hurting people or what have you. I have also asked Mike, and Erin and Sue are admins too.

I haven't listened to the whole CD yet, but so far I think it's a major improvement over just about every new release after And Justice For All.

I'm not one of those people who thinks a band needs to stay the same, but I've definitely been less than thrilled with their direction over the past 20 years.

Hmm I'll have to get it for my husband. Somehow I'm inclined to take your word for it ;-)

I'm sorry too about the little tussle with Tyler. But she was asking for it! ;-)

(If you read THIS post and it's comments, you'll get the whole story.)

yes. if you have ever loved master of puppets or ...and justice for all then you will be very happy to hear the direction metallica has turned for this latest effort.

upon initial listening, i would say they have taken their pop metal sensibilities they learned writing short catchy hooks and fused that together with the sweeping epic style they used to write with to create a perfect hybrid.

I made the huge mistake of buying St. Anger on the strength of positive pre-release magazine reviews (from the same mags that said it was crap after it was released and thousands of mugs like me had already bought it). The reviews hailed St. Anger as a return to Metallica's roots, so I was sceptical of the claims when Death Magnetic was released.

When I finally listened to it, I was blown away! It's just like the nineties never happened - Metallica are back on form, in a BIG way.

EXACTLY!!!! i couldn't have said it better myself. i actually listened to it all week at work to get to know it front to back.

good to even have a cd i want to do that with again. most albums that come out these days are okay. good enough for what they are. but very few get under my skin and take up residence.

this is one of the proud few.
