LOL I don't know how you two can be in the same room together. LOLOL But really this is a bad quiz ... it says I am 100% anarchist ... which is too far from reality ...

what do you think anarchy means?

Valorosa said...

LOL I knew you were going to bite ... anarchy is actually an ideal that I looked into many years ago ... in my hippie days ... I met cop haters, government haters ... and a variety of crazy intellectuals who I must say had great ideas ... I liked the Communist Manifesto as well ... great book, great ideas ... but ideals they are ...
As we deal with the real world here ... those who would abuse and use others and I wish they weren't out there, but they are ... there are wicked among us ... the sheep and the goats, the wheat and the weeds ... and our laws are not enough for them ... they get around them too. Sigh ... I wish we didn't need government and I know they are human and mess things up ... but we would be worse off without them because there are many who would not govern themselves with wisdom because noone can without God.
There is one world where we may be able to get away without it as it has not worked well with it ... and that is with a gathering of those who love God. I don't think we would need any kind of restrictions there ... only relationship and an open heart to hear His will and do it. There is no law against the fruits of the spirit. There will always be natural leaders rise in a group of any kind and there will be those who would prefer to sit quieter but would still have equal input. The only authority is God Himself .. now that
is 'something else'

but isn't that what jesus was hinting at when he said to "turn the other cheek" and "if someone forces you to go one mile, go two" and "if a man takes your cloak, let him have your tunic as well?" isn't this the prescribed method of dealing with the "real world evil people?"

as i read not too long ago in reference to laws, "good people don't need them and bad people don't follow them, so what good are they?"

i, however, have seen love transform people.

and i do agree. having god as your only authority is indeed something else... and living in this manner will indeed bring all sorts of troubles for you. as the prophets, jesus, and the apostles can tell you. because men with authority sure love that authority. and they will hate you for not respecting it or obeying them.

Jonny,

Let's not be sexist here, women with authority will also be offended, ha ha. Anyhoo, I think it's important to remember with those types of individuals that they too are doing what feels right in their hearts. Let's take for example the gentleman who degraded you in front of the congregation. I'm sure in his core he felt that he was doing the right thing. God called upon him to do the right thing and expel you from contaminating his children and place of worship. I guess my point is not that they are so much objectionable to the fact of losing their authority, it's losing what they have always known and felt right about. You are trying to change their core which is not an easy task for anyone. It will almost always be met with defiance. I'm also sure there's some people reading this blog right now that felt like that guy did the right thing for the congregation. Their core is also different from mine or yours. I think this is where laws for a society come in. The society decides collectively on what it feels is right or wrong. If you didn't various perspectives would be doing various things, (he'd get up, she'd get up, we'd all get up) it would be anarchy! For instance, what would keep someone from killing my entire family because he thought it was right and he thought it would make him feel good. I know I should turn the other cheek and forget about it, but should I have to live like that?

When the true church ...the bride of Christ meets together ... there is always harmony. It is found in areas of the organized church, maybe ... and in homes of those of like mind and between two or three who gather together in his name.
We have been given gifts, all of us, to carry out the plan of the head of the body who is Christ ... we are the body. Those gifts are not recognized in the physical churches of North America because there is too much fleshly government. The Holy Spirit does not run our churches or everyone would be operating equally and respected in their gifts, instead of looking up to a preacher and elders who often like their position of importance more than their commission of love for their brothers and sisters in the Lord. In North American churches it is no different than a worldly organization. The nice looking and the talented and those with money are the ones who are exalted ... The self righteous run our churches today.
Hey... it's still better than belonging to the Hell's Angels but really no different than Amnesty and all the orgs that feed the hungry, clothe the naked and give care to the sick around the world ... I think they are walking in the will of God more than our churches today.
"He has shown thee O man what is good and what does the Lord require of thee... but to do justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with thy God" the Bible.

(how come andrew gets to get up?)

ben, you raise a valid point "...it's losing what they have always known and felt right about."
i had the thought that perhaps one of the things that was so upsetting was the loss of dreams. the loss of dreams for what i could be and what i could do "for the kingdom." in their own minds. and what i am doing now not only doesn't make sense, but seems like a downright betrayal of everything they had advised or encouraged me to be. which would then almost mean that to view it as such would make it seem to them as if they had somehow failed in their duties to shepherd me down the "straight and narrow." hmmm. thanks for sharing your thoughts, kenneth. i do enjoy them so.

"Hey... it's still better than belonging to the Hell's Angels..."
but wouldn't you find a lot more honesty among the hell's angels? aren't those people simply who they are without the masks that many church-goers wear? i know because i used to wear a mask.

so if truth pervades the hell's angels more than the organized church, is it really a better place?

Valorosa said...

LOL no ... truth does not rule the Hell's Angels ... they are a cruel bunch to each other ... the mafia the same ... you walk on egg shells in certain areas of their organization. They do not love their enemies, they "love" money. They wear masks, they have to, to survive there. Like Kojak used to say, "You lay down with the goats you begin to smell like the goats." :-) God is there ... He is everywhere and is no respector of persons ... His grace is extended to them as well. I think loving yourself would constitute not being part of their business, but certainly love them if one of them is in your circle of acquaintances or family or friends.
At least in a place where people are supposed to believe the Bible you will find someone who is real. They aren't always the loudest ... they are more like the Spirit of God ... still small voice ... gentle and compassionate, love their enemies, do good to those who hate them, are filled with the fruits of the spirit and the wisdom from above. They don't point fingers but understand that His grace covers all. They accept that they don't live in a perfect world and are not perfect themselves. The sheep and the goats are together here. Bad things are going to happen, there is no question. There are no truer words than
"brighten the corner where you are." Allow God to rule your life and you will brighten your corner of the world. You won't even be aware of all the people watching your life as it unfolds ... the light on the top of the hill for everyone to see.

i'm not saying that everything that they do is ruled by "truth". what i am saying is that in my experience with "bikers" they are more of a no bullshit type of folk. what you see is what you get. they do not claim to be one thing and then do another.

It's amazing to me that the longer I live the more I realize that people make decisions based upon themselves than they do the world around them. For example, if a bully at school picks on a kid it's because of an insecurity or unfulfilled need inside of the bully instead of because the other kid had it coming. Personally this has been a difficult thing to grasp because I have always struggled with internalizing things. If something or somebody did something bad to me I always wondered why and felt that there must be something wrong with me for somebody to do such a thing. When in essence that kid was probably having a bad day, or even worse year and was just venting his frustrations. Using what you were saying Jonny, I feel that you're going down the right path wondering if it was something inside of them that stirred up these issues. I would propose that if you looked deeper into the guy who put up slides of your blog, he has had some problems in the past or is currently going through some issues that got stirred about because of your actions. He may have had issues with some of the things he got so angry with you about and possibly made some bad choices with them. I hope someday Jonny you won't internalize this situation and realize that for the people to do what they did, they are the fucked up ones and not you.

I guess if we really think about what kind of a world they live in ... they gotta be wearing masks Jon. They have to steel their consciences against the call of the Holy Spirit. How can anyone be involved in what they do and not be some kind of pretender... unless they are sincerely evil. Then I guess what you see is what you get.

No bullshit ... there are those among them who will say your belief in God is bullshit ... there are those among them who know God is real ... to YOU the mask comes off ... to their biker friends the mask stays on.

We may find a place of agreement here ... those that do believe see real among those who profess Christ clearer than we see it with each other. They recognize BS... it comes in the form of snobbery and coldness of heart toward them. Really though, I don't see that they are any different than any other group of people ... the sheep and the goats are together there as well.
